The beginning of the end

A few weeks back, my roomies and I put our beds together. With an average termperature of around 38 degrees and without AC, it became too hot. We then decided to put our beds in a rowat one side of the room and put four fans in the sleeping corner, leaving just two fans in the other part, the study corner/dressing. Consequence is that we all get to know each other even better, we tell each other everything and we all know everything about what's going on in the other's life. And in a month and a bit, it's over!

At least part one is. Our secondyears are leaving, so are around 10 teachers, and we, firstyears, will have to learn to live with half of our so close-knit family gone. We'll have to learn how to be accepting towards our soon-to-be firsties, instead of just 'grieving' over the loss of our secondyears. We've heard the rumours, that it's undescribely hard to see a group of strangers invade your campus while you yourself still don't realise the other group is gone. And the invasion has already begun...

The facebook-group for "zeroyears" is created and everyone is presenting themselves. It makes me think again of me back then, how happy I was and how exciting getting to know these people on facebook was (even though I regret it now, being so active on facebook).
Two weekends back, there was INC: Indian National Committee Selection weekend. Spread over three days, 110 candidates (chosen from a group of 500 applicants) with their parents came on campus for a weekend full of interviews, discussions, group games and so on. I volunteered and was appointed to give parent tours, which was really fun. At night, we socialized with the applicants, there was a bonfire each night and hot chocolate, it was really cosy.

But my weekend ended earlier than expected. On thursday night, now a week and a bit ago, my grandfather passed away. I decided to go home for the funeral and on sunday morning I left. Being home, without having prepared for it, was really strange. However, I was really happy I went and could spend some time with my family. The next sunday, I arrived on campus again.

There was absolutely no time for jetlag of acclimatisation! With only two weeks of class left now, there's never been that much pressure. Next to all the end of term essays and tests, we also need to start preparing for our end of year exams! Even though we do have one week free, just to study, it is needed to study in advance. These exams are really important, as in they will be a big part of our predicted grade; sent to universities.

The stress is high, but, this is MUWCI, there are still some things happening to relax. On friday, a group of mentally handicapped people (which our school has been working with for 15 years) came to campus to enjoy a cultural show, all organized by my roomie Indi! On fridaynight, one of the most fun things in MUWCI happened: "Capture The Flag"! This time, we played first years against second years, to end the year properly. Of course, we first years won (twice!). The first year theatre students are showing us their last plays of the year, written by themselves. Today, there's a run for an Isreali MUWCI-alumna who passed away when she was in MUWCI.

Sunday mean brunchtime, so I'm going to leave now to have some pasta (yay!) and crêpes (yay!) and omelettes (yay!). See you!
