A fresh start

20/08/14

I am in MUWCI again! After a summer full of raindrops and also some sun and comfy bedsheets and the smell of lavender and cozy carpets and delicious food and cleanness and greenness and smiling eyes and pink beers and tanned legs and big sunglasses and high mountains and loud guitars and long days and barbecue meat and late mornings and late nights and muddy shoes and wet tents and aspirations and procrastination and happy shorts and short grass and garden tomatoes and yellow raspberries and bees and birds and planes, blue rooms and happy protters and inspirational people and philosophical trainrides and sleepovers and dissapointment tears and nostalgic moods and lovely boredom and good food, good food, more food, good food, I finally arrived in my other home again.

So then I was home again and slowly the world of fairy lights came alive again and people were falling through the rain again and umbrellas were out, sunglasses in their boxes somewhere behind a pack of maggi and an unwashed cup, a lost shirt and some dirty socks, in a dark blue barely closing cupboard. And there were the smiles again, those smiles that no one forgets, and there were the rumours again, and look, there are the frogs again! There were the big suitcases and the even bigger mathematics books and the photos on the cupboards and the mosquito bites on the faces.

Meanwhile, 4 days of classes are over, but I really can't say that we're back to normal! Everyday, there's one or two meetings about universities, counselling, triveni,... People don't have that tired look on their face yet, the rooms aren't all too messy yet and the excitement, oh no, that isn't gone yet! Two days til our dear firsties arrive and we are so ready for them! Indi and I are making our room and house ready, I've already booked a jeep to go get my firstie in the airport and the planning for next week and the month of september has been sent to all secondyears. Yes yes, if any firstie is reading this: hurry up! We're waiting!

Busy times are awaiting this term. School will be more demanding than ever (wow so dramatic) with IA's and EE's and much more to work on. Then there's also the new triveni program, which a group of students including myself are coordinating. I really want to put some time into getting to know the firstyears, and I also have to start thinking about universities, where I want to apply, what I want to do, and so on. I feel good, rested out, full of excitement about this year, I want to work hard and do things the right way. So bring it on :)

I'll have to go now, work a bit and then go to a meeting.

  1. Hey Louise,

    Groetjes
